How Do I Get Back Together With My Ex Girlfriend
My brother-in-law asked me this the other day and all I could think of saying was to ask him why he had been so stupid to let her go in the first place.
He said that he had just met a very pretty dolly bird at work who had looked him with envy and so decided to ditch the girl who we all us liked so much, all because of the little dolly with the sexy eye. He soon found out that the same sexy eye had been offered to the rest of the male population in the office.
I am certain, however, that this was not the real reason he dumped his ex girlfriend. He seemed to be very much in love with his ex but he was frightened of getting committed. It was the first time that a girl had made him talk openly about settling down and starting a family. She was very much a career girl, and he was afraid that it was not exactly what she was wanting.
He is a very reserved person when it comes to talking about how he feels and so decided it was easier to end the relationship rather than to ask her what she was looking for in the future, and see if their ideas were compatible.
I could not believe that someone who was so intelligent could mess up his emotional life so much. His ex girlfriend was liked by all the family and she really loved him. I knew that she would have him back. Putting aside his problems, he also adored her and it was evident that they would make a great couple.
I started to help him out and suggested he wrote her a letter. He wanted to send her an email but I said that a handwritten letter was more likely to get him the reply that he hoped for.
It wasn’t long before he was back asking me what I thought he should write. You would have thought that someone with a university degree would be capable of writing a simple letter on his own. I was amazed. I suggested that he excused himself for what he had done and promise that it would never happen again. I told him also to invite her out to a good restaurant and give her a good night out.
This is a much better approach than sending a message with the traditional bunch of flowers and the offer of a meal at the pizza house. Now, fortunately for him, he is no longer asking “How do I get back together with my ex girlfriend” as his girlfriend took it all in her stride.
He is worried to death about what he should say new question is what to say to his future father in law when he asks to marry his daughter but fortunately he has a little time to sit down and think this one out for himself.
