You often hear them saying, “I’m still in love with my ex girlfriend.” And they all want to know one thing, “how to get her back.” When men who say they think they want their ex back, ask me this, I always ask them to tell me what they tried, that has not worked.
Many a guy who really is serious about his ex girlfriend and wants to get her back will be constantly calling her to tell her how much he really loves her and wants her to return. He will promise that both he and the relationship will change and that he merits that she give him another chance. All he’s doing is driving his ex further away by his desperation.
Others will take the opposite route to begging and try the bribery tactics. They buy their ex all sorts of expensive presents and invite them to good restaurants. She will no doubt accept the presents and accompany them on the great nights out but no way will they return as they don’t accept that you can win back love by bribery.
Yet the main thing that women want in a relationship is a man who will listen to her. Even if what she is talking about is not very important she wants to be heard. She is not asking that you agree with her but she does want you to listen to her.
A lot of men think they do listen or they try to listen. The man sees his role as offering a solution, which is the last thing their ex wants from him. He thinks she doesn’t listen to him when he solves her problem for her. He does not realize that she is just talking about her problems but the fixing she is quite capable of handling herself without his help.
Trying to make your ex listen to you first so that you can solve her problems (which you have probably only partially understood), is not the same as listening to her. Women appreciate it when you to listen to their needs. Men and women communicate in different ways which may explain in part why your relationship has broken down.
So if you’re thinking ‘I’m still in love with my ex-girlfriend and want to get her back’, then learn to really listen to her. Ask her questions and listen carefully to her replies before asking other questions but above all don’t try to solve her problem for her or say the problem is a no problem. Remember all she wants is that you listen to her and so do so intently.
Women feel that when their man listens to them he proves he really cares about her. You are saying that you understand her and you are interested in what she says. So the next time you talk with your ex, look at her and listen carefully to what she has to say.
Your girlfriend may be a little puzzled at first, when she realizes how much you have changed, but she will become more relaxed when you show you are interested and do really care about her. She will be left wondering why her feelings for you ever left her. They will return rapidly when she sees you really do love her and want to get her back.
